Kolache (Savory filled bread)
Kolaches are filled sweet bread that originated in Central Europe and came to the United States through the Czech communities in Texas, Minnesota and several Midwest states. They are very similar to the Chinese bao although baos are typically steamed instead of baked. We have a large variety of fillings available at the Farmer’s Market on Saturdays but the Soy Chorizo remains our most popular. To identify the filling inside, the kolaches are numbered with food coloring.

Pandesal
A quintessential breakfast bread in the Philippines — the Filipinos eat a lot of rice but pandesal is one staple they cannot do without. The bread can be found in every town and in large cities, possibly in every block. Sweet Claire tweaked the recipe and improved the quality by using King Arthur flour. The result is a chewy, not tough, texture; a bit sweet, slightly salty — just right for our breakfast offering at the market. Here is our menu:
- Ham, Cheddar Cheese & Egg
- Smoked Bacon or Pepper Bacon, Cheddar Cheese & Egg
- Chicken Feta Sausage & Egg or our own ground turkey patty with egg and cheese
- Corned Beef, hash browns & egg
We also offer Gluten-free cheese biscuit with ham, cheddar cheese & egg
Doughnuts (Berliner)
Our yeast doughnuts are made from a Berliner (German doughnut) recipe — lots of butter and egg yolks. Most are shaped like daisies for visual effect and also for even cooking. Some of the glazes may vary depending on how busy our production schedule is and the availability of ingredients.
